NEWS AND HIGHLIGHTS

  • Tax Credit FAQ updated with new topics.

  • New Assets and Farmworker training videos for our stakeholders!  The Compliance Division has just completed two new training videos, one on Farmworker household Certification, and a two-part overview of assets calculation and verification.  We hope these will be good introductions to these topics for staff new to household qualification (and maybe even for seasoned folks!).  Please watch the videos and give us your feedback on them by sending us an email at AskusCo@wshfc.org. • 2008 Tax Credit Compliance Manual - "2nd Edition"   Like many editors, we sometimes find errors or omissions in our Manuals soon after they have "gone to press."  We are reposting the chapters in the Tax Credit Compliance Manual because we have made a few minor corrections in Chapters 2 and 9.  In chapter 2, we corrected an example so it now matches current policy information; in Chapter 9, we modified the language concerning surety bonds and added a few simple attachments at the end of the chapter.  If you have bookmarked the TC Manual link or printed out the chapters, please refresh your bookmark and/or re-print the above chapters. Thanks for your understanding!  (5/08)

  • The Online Tax Credit Compliance Manual has been REVISED! Many of the chapters have policy and procedure changes that are summarized in a revisions memo. The Online version features bookmarks for each chapter and the opportunity for you to find/search for topics. We encourage you to print it out directly from the website if you need a hardcopy version. A limited number of printed copies will be available after the end of May for $60.00 each. Please contact our support staff after that date if you need to place an order.  (4/08)

  • Meeting of the Minds Roundtable Discussion will be held Wednesday, June 25 at the Housing Finance Commission in Seattle. Topic to be covered in this third session will be: Properties developed with financing from multiple funding agencies.  We will have representatives from the State Department of Community, Trade & Economic Development, King County and the Seattle Office of Housing in attendance to answer questions.  Free registration.  (4/08)

  • The Compliance and Preservation Events Calendar has added web & audio conferences (WEB) grant, award, or funding notices (Grant/Award/Funding) and featured events (+++) symbols!  (5/08)

  • Special Alert! The Compliance Team is Creating New Tax Credit Compliance Workshops!  New basic and advanced Tax Credit Compliance workshops are being developed this summer and will be offered in the Puget Sound area starting in September.  Register for E-NEWS to get workshop announcements.  (3/08)
