Tax Credit Compliance
ADVANCED Workshop
A focused look at and discussion of challenging issues faced by
Low-Income Housing Tax Credit compliance professionals in Washington State.
Several case studies will be covered in-depth. Topics will include
self-employed applicants, special-needs issues, and common area unit
clarification. Bring your calculator.
To be eligible to take the
advanced workshop you must have hands-on experience of at least
one year; and, you must have taken a Commission-taught compliance workshop.

Bond Compliance Workshop
This workshop is for WSHFC-issued tax-exempt bonds only. Topics
include verifying and calculating income and assets; introduction to the latest
Compliance forms and samples; financing overview for WSHFC-issued bonds;
recognizing non-compliance; the compliance review process; student issues; and
calculating income.

Placed-in-Service Requirement
Tax Credit properties that will place in service during any calendar year are
required to have the property owner and a property management representative
attend a training session 120 days prior to the properties’ placed-in-service
date.

The Washington State Housing Finance Commission is conducting a series of
Compliance Monitoring Training workshops throughout Washington State. With the
increased emphasis on compliance by investors and owners, these sessions are
invaluable in helping you keep abreast of compliance issues which impact your
property. The Commission has tailored these Low-Income Housing Tax Credit and
Tax-Exempt Bond compliance workshops to meet your specific needs. These
workshops will focus on federal and state compliance requirements as well as how
to avoid common compliance monitoring pitfalls. The PowerPoint
presentations used at the workshops have received a
National Award for program excellence.
