Disaster and Emergency Assistance Resources
Eastern Washington Wildfires: Housing and Other Resources
Washington is currently under a State of Emergency due to severe wildfires impacting communities across the state; hundreds of homes have been destroyed and households displaced.
The Commission extends support to those impacted by evacuations, property loss, and ongoing disruption. The Commission is working closely with local and state partners to identify housing options and connect displaced residents with available resources.
The Commission has waived certain tenant requirements for Post-Year 15 LIHTC properties so vacant affordable housing units can be made available quickly to households affected by the wildfires.
Information for LIHTC Owners and Managers
Waived Restrictions for Post-15 LIHTC Properties located in identified locations in the emergency declaration.
Owners of LIHTC properties who wish to provide temporary emergency housing to displaced individuals may accept eligible tenants based on self-certification that their income does not exceed 100% of Area Median Income. Other income, Special Needs and population requirements and restrictions on housing students are also suspended during this period.
For guidance and more information on the waiver please refer to the linked page below.
