Evergreen Sustainable Development Standard

Beginning in 2009, the LIHTC Program will adopt the Washington State Department of Community Trade and Economic Development's (CTED) Evergreen Sustainable Development Standard.  All applicants to the LIHTC Program, regardless of their funding sources, will be held to the Evergreen standard and to all related policies and procedures.

Detailed information regarding the Evergreen Sustainable Development Standard (ESDS), related documents, and Green Building links can be found on CTED's website at http://www.cted.wa.gov/site/1027/default.aspx.  The current version of ESDS is version 1.2.

All projects applying for Low Income Housing Tax Credits beginning in 2009 that do NOT contain Housing Trust Funds through CTED must submit the following along with their Application:

• Evergreen Sustainable Development Standard Checklist (PDF)
• Evergreen Owner Certification (PDF)

In order to certify compliance with the Evergreen Sustainable Development Standard, all projects receiving an allocation of Low Income Housing Tax Credits beginning in 2009 must submit the following documents along with their placed-in-service documentation:

• Final Owner and Architect Certification (PDF)
• Evergreen Project Implementation Plan (PDF)
• Instructions and documentation required: ESDS Project Implementation Plan Instructions (PDF)
