Online Homebuyer Education Exception Procedures

To qualify for the online Homebuyer Education course, the loan officer must first complete the Exception Request form #15.34 and fax it to 206-287-4456 for approval.  The form #15.34 can be downloaded from our website at:  www.wshfc.org/sf/whole_manual/forms.html

Next, the loan officer will contact the mortgage insurance (MI) company to receive the password that the homebuyer will need in order to log into the MI company’s website and take the course (see contact information below).

The loan officer will direct their homebuyer to the following Commission website to begin the online homebuyer education: For MGIC: www.wshfc.org/hbe/mgic and for UGI: www.wshfc.org/hbe/ugi

Upon completion of the Commission module, the homebuyer will be directed to the MI company website.  The homebuyer will log into MI course using the password provided to them by the loan officer.

MGIC Contact Information:
Loan officer will access online at www.mgic.com  Under "Quick Links" choose "Buyers Ed Code Originator Registration."  The loan officer's email address will become their lender code.

UGI Contact Information:
Loan officer calls UGI’s “Road to Homeownership” hotline at 800-999-9864 or access online at www.ugmiguide.com

Upon successful completion of the course, the MI company Certificate of Completion will be emailed to the loan officer.  The loan officer will need to fax that certificate to the Commission. The Commission will then issue a certificate of our own, with the control number that is used for loan reservation.
