Preserving Our Stock of Affordable Housing
On April 26, 2001, WSHFC and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle (FHLB)
entered into a partnership to preserve the stock of affordable housing in the
state of Washington by widely distributing information about properties that may
be available for purchase.
As a result of this partnership, WSHFC and the FHLB will work together to
serve as a "clearinghouse" for information regarding affordable housing
properties which are for sale in Washington or for which the owners are
considering sale in the foreseeable future.
WSHFC will gather brief but specific property data, format it
to a standardized form and communicate the information to the FHLB. The FHLB
will disseminate the information to its member banks, its mailing list, and to
others expressing an interest in the information. The intent is to bring
potential buyers and sellers together. The process is not intended to replace
real estate brokers or other professionals, but to expand the pool of potential
buyers and lenders in the affordable housing industry. Neither the Commission
nor the FHLB will act as an agent, nor are they responsible for finding a buyer
for the properties.
Neither the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle nor the Washington State
Housing Finance Commission makes any warranty as to the accuracy, completeness,
reliability or timeliness of the information posted. Individuals and entities
that receive information and contact the owner about a property for sale are not
recommended or endorsed by the Commission or the FHLB. Owners are advised to do
their own investigation of these individuals and entities.
If you own an affordable housing project with expiring affordability
requirements and you are considering selling, now or in the future, please
download, sign and return the letter below along with the completed Multifamily
Property Listing. This letter states that you are interested in posting this
information with the clearinghouse, are willing to field queries from
individuals or organizations that may respond, and that you have provided the
information list and have reviewed the data prior to publication. The
Multifamily Property Listing contains the relevant information on the property
to be posted with FHLB.
