WAFA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization started by Governor Lowry in 2003. Since that time, WAFA, under the leadership of Governor Lowry and the assistance of Ms. Sigmon, have helped forty-two agricultural families become the proud owners of brand new homes in eastern Washington. The Commission provided low cost construction financing to WAFA to build the homes and its affordable first mortgage products for the first-time homebuyers to purchase the homes.
